Auto Replicas No. 36 1958 Jaguar XK150

This is a great looking model. A white metal model which we bought ready made – you could also buy them as a kit.

We bought this many years ago mainly because Dad was a massive Jag fan, and at the time there weren’t a lot of XK150 diecasts to be found which made this unusual.

Like all the Auto Replicas range of 1:43 cars, this fantastic Jag is handbuilt. There isn’t a great deal of information available about this company, but I’m sure fans of white metal models will know a bit more than me.

I do know, that the company was started in the 1970’s by a gentleman by the name of Barry K.Lester. Originally trading under Auto Replicas the company later changed its name to BKL Developments.

As well as this Jaguar XK150, other models in the Auto replicas range included a 1937 Packard Tourer, a Morgan Plus Eight, Triumph TR6; AC Cobra and a Bugatti Type 43.

As far as I’m aware, the company is no longer trading. A great shame as the quality of their models is outstanding. Evidence of this can be seen int the XK150’s wire wheels – I think they are cool given they date from the 80’s!

Good quality as well as a good looker!
