My favourite present from Christmas is a Molotow liquid chrome pen and I have been using it all over the place. I have tried various chrome paints before but have always found them disappointing as they are usually just a metallic silver and don’t look right but the chrome pen does give a proper chrome like finish.

I think it works best on worn out chromed plastic parts like Corgi and Spot-On bumpers and similar, also very good for wheels that have gone dull like on the Corgi Rover P6 and the Mini’s pictured and on unpainted areas like the front end on the Matchbox Mercury Cougar Villager.
I’m not as keen on it when added directly to the model like on the Plymouth front end even though it looks good, it just doesn’t look like the models did originally but it’s great if you want to add detail or restore your shine.
The roof rack on the Guisval Citroen SM had gone almost completely back to the white plastic finish but a few minutes with the pen had it gleaming again.
