Here is a quick wonder out loud for you.
A great many Dinky cars and similar have passed through my hands over the years and one that turns up quite regularly is the Ford Fairlaine in pea green(148) and its black and white Police version (258) and blue and white RCMP version (264) but I recently got a different one that I didn’t even know existed, in light metallic green.
I was aware of other colours on the US and African versions but hadn’t seen this one before and sure enough it is listed in the price guide although they don’t rate it as valuable as a pea green model with a red interior.
My wonder is why offer it in two very similar colours, surely it would have made more marketing sense to offer it in noticeably different colours?
There are several other similar offerings too – the Bedford TK refuse truck came in dark green, dark green metallic, light green and light green metallic, unlucky if you think green is unlucky!
Also the Corsair could be had in bright red or metallic red but at least there was a third option of blue on this one.
There you go then, a pointless ramble but excuse enough for a nice picture of a car you don’t see much
